         Is it a complaint on how the government is being run?

         Is it about the government being messed with by the tea party conservatives?
       Are they making fun of the boulder pushers in the news?

Use of Images or Artistic Techniques

       Is the elephant the republican party?
         Is the ranger the opinion of the voters on the republican party?

6.Look at minor details in the cartoon that will contribute to the humor or the point of the cartoon




Symbolism- it is used to represent larger concepts or ideas

exaggeration- it is used to make a point, it makes it seem more important or stand out

labeling- it is used to explain what certain things are or mean in order to make the cartoon make more sense

analogy- it is used to compare something with something else but using unlike objects or subjects

Irony- it is used to make something funny or get a point across in a sarcastic way
